David was born in Midland on August 22, 1969, to Pamela Diane Willingham and Charles Wayne Hayes. He graduated from Midland Lee High School and continued his education at Angelo State University. David was married to Melissa Diane Payne on October 9, 1998. They were married 19 years.
David worked as an I.T. manager for Midland College for 20 years. He coached sports for all of his kids, enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, and spending time with family.
David is preceded in death by his mother Pamela, and grandparents Paul and Alene Hayes.
David is survived by his wife, Melissa Hayes; grandchildren, Layla and Jake Hayes, Cameron and Cain Murphy, and Carlene Hayes; father, Charles Hayes Sr.; aunt & uncle Sissie and Clint Hayner; brothers, Charles Hayes Jr., and Brian Donewar; children Jake, Melody, and Cole Hayes; nephew Zander Hayes, and other family and friends.
There will be a Funeral Service in the Ellis Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, March 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.
