On December 25, 2012, Clovis Moore went to be with his Lord and Savior. Clovis was born the fourth of five children on April 23, 1936, to Furman David Moore and Ruth Wink Moore in Cisco, TX. He was raised in Putman and Cisco, and graduated from Cisco High School in 1954. Clovis was in the National Guard 7 with the Texas 49th Division at Cisco, Texas. Clovis married his high school sweetheart, Wanda Harp on September 12, 1954, and they began their married life together in a small basement apartment in Cisco, Texas, with a move to Eastland shortly afterward. Daughter Vicki, was born to the couple in 1955. In 1957, the young family relocated to Jal, New Mexico, where Clovis went to work for El Paso Natural Gas from 1957 until retiring in 1997. Son Gary was born in 1960 to complete the family. They lived in Jal for 19 years before relocating to Midland, TX. Clovis began his college studies and earned a bachelor’s degree in math and science from College of the Southwest while working and helping Wanda raise the family.
An avid fisherman, Clovis loved the Texas coast and he and his fishing buddies usually managed two trips a year to Port Aransas for floundering and fishing. He brought home the catch, “fried ‘em up”, and provided some really good eating. Even in later years, Clovis and nephew, David Caudle, continued this tradition. Clovis’ last fishing trip was Thanksgiving.
On August 5, 2011, Clovis married Annette Upham in Midland. Later they relocated to Goldthwaite, TX, where they attended First Baptist Church. They enjoyed traveling, counting the deer coming up in the front yard, and each other's company.
Preceded in death by his parents and Wanda, Clovis is survived by: his wife Annette Moore; daughter Vicki and son-in-law Ray Trout, of Carlsbad, NM; son Gary and daughter-in-law Lisa Moore, of Midland, TX; granddaughter Misty and husband Ralph Anaya of Johnstown, CO; granddaughter Brandy and husband Matt Cooksey of Orla, TX; granddaughters Christie and Stefanie Moore of Midland, TX; and six great grandchildren: Ryan, Kristopher, Kari, and Karsyn Anaya, and Sam and Mattie Cooksey.

Funeral services will be conducted on December 28, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel in Midland, TX. Interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Crestview Baptist Church Building Fund, or a charity of the donor's choice.
