She was born January 14, 1926 in Pennock, Minnesota to Opal and Furman Larson. She attended Augsburg College in Minneapolis, MN before joining Braniff Airlines in 1945 as a ticket supervisor in San Antonio, TX where she met her husband George Bernard Buescher, Jr. They were married in San Antonio at St. Mary’s Catholic Church January 31, 1948. Moving to Abilene in 1953 they raised four children and were very active in many community and church organizations. In 1986, they retired to Midland to be close to children and grandchildren.
Bobbie will be forever remembered as a loving wife, mother and “Nana” to her family. Her gregarious nature and positive attitude created many lifetime friendships; she will be missed by all.
Bobbie was a stylish person who enjoyed playing bridge and poker, as well as traveling with family and friends. She earned her private pilot’s license during college and loved flying, even in later years as a passenger. She started hunting at 65 and was credited with a buffalo, elk and many other trophies. She also loved fishing. Bobbie was active with church charities, pink ladies, numerous bridge clubs, and an avid spectator for the Midland College basketball team and the Midland Rockhounds.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, George Buescher, Jr.
She is survived by daughter Judy Floyd and husband Don of Midland, and their children Mark and wife Katie, great-granddaughter Caroline of Dallas, Jana and fiancé Chris of Ft. Worth, Pamela and husband Jordan of San Angelo; daughter Babs Mayeron and husband John of Dallas and their son Kyle of Dallas; son Trey Buescher and wife Lisa of Midland, and their children Lauren and husband Barton, great-granddaughter Annalee of North Carolina, Audra of Dallas; daughter Terri Durossette and husband Randy of Lake Palestine; Sister Inez Weist and family of Minneapolis, MN. She also is survived by many nieces and nephews and a wonderful group of dear friends and card players.
Pallbearers will be Mark Floyd, Kyle Mayeron, Jordan Doughty, and Chris Hoisager. Honorary pallbearer will be Staff Sargent Barton Gonzales, USAF.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, June 16, 2014 at Ellis Funeral home in Midland, TX. Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, 4601 Neely Ave, Midland, TX with a graveside service to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
