Janet Shirlene Kendrick (Eldridge), age 83, of Carlisle, Ohio passed away peacefully under the care of Hospice of Middletown, at her home with her granddaughter and great granddaughter by her side holding her hand Sunday, October 30, 2022. She was born February 21, 1939, the daughter of Joseph and Lora (Ellison) Eldridge.
Janet is a 1957 graduate of Lemon Monroe HS. She married the love of her life Pat Kendrick in June 11, 1957. Janet worked a majority of her life as a grocer in diary and produce. She retired from McGee’s in Poasttown, Ohio in 2006 to help with her newborn great granddaughter Keira. Janet returned to work as a Walmart greeter just a few years later where God used her to touch the lives of those she encountered.
She loved cooking, gardening, and tending to her yard full of rose bushes, daffodils, Pioney’s, tulips and many more. Mostly she loved spending time with her family and friends that she loved deeply.
Janet attended a few different church’s over her lifetime; Harlam Park Church of God, Stratford Heights Church of God, Princeton Pike Church of God, Franklin Church of God and Life Covenant Church. During her time at Franklin Church of God she was a part of the ladies ministry who would travel to the Tennessee Church of God Children's home annually to volunteer her time on their campus, provided Christmas gifts and would sponsor a child or two every year. She taught children’s Sunday school & children’s church. May 26, 1983 Janet became a certified trainer in personal evangelism & continued her education in her faith & ministry until the day God called her home.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years Pat. L Kendrick; daughter, Tonia S. Kendrick; adoptive parents, Clarence and Lela Eldridge; father, Joseph Eldridge; mother, Lora Ellison; brothers, Clyde, Carter, Floyd, Roy, Samuel, Louis, James, Kenneth; sisters, Retha Payton, Helen Powell, Henrietta Phillabaum; and several nieces and nephews.
Janet is survived by her granddaughter April (Husband Jason McCloud); great granddaughter, Keira Greene; step great grandson, Kooper McCloud and many Nieces and nephews.
Private Services will be held.
