Earl joined the US Navy in August 1973, He was honorably discharged in August 1979.
Earl was divorced. He worked as an electronics technician for over 15 years. Earl was interested in science and received an associate’s degree of science in biotechnology from Ivy Tech. He then went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana Wesleyan.
Earl was an avid fan of science fiction books and movies. He loved the fine arts-The Muppets, Looney Tunes and SpongeBob Square Pants. Earl enjoyed the outdoors and cooking. He spent many years volunteering at area soup kitchens. He enjoyed fishing.
Earl was a skilled roller skater. He participated in local Boy Scouts with his son Gregory when he was in grade school. They loved participating in the Pinewood Derby and winter camping. Earl enjoyed the theatre-assisting with makeup for our high school productions. He also performed in local productions and dabbled in stand-up comedy.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his by his sister Linda Lou (Dalton) Alcorn and an infant daughter Mary Catherine.
Earl is survived by his children, son Greg (Rina) Neeley and daughter Molly (Chris) Mengerink, and their two daughters, Cozette (JP) Gant and Maya Mengerink, and his former wife Maureen Neeley.
His siblings, brother John Neeley, sister Sheila Neeley, niece Laura Hatton and numerous grand- nieces and grand-nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at 1pm at Breitenbach Anderson Funeral Home, 517 South Sutphin Street, Middletown, OH 45044 with Pastor Brian Morris officiating.
