Wife of Jay (deceased); dearest mother of Thomas Jay (Gwen) and Terry Michael (Sue); loving grandmother of Caley (Nicholas); Kelsey, Jay and Jeff; great-grandmother of Ethan, Eli and Landon; beloved aunt and great aunt to many.
Jean was born in Matewan, West Virginia, the eighth daughter born to Harry and Mary Mounts. She spent most of her childhood in Piney View, West Virginia and after her marriage to Jay moved to Cleveland, Ohio where she lovingly raised Tom and Terry. She became a cosmetologist, then taught for ten years at the cosmetology school from which she graduated. She started her own business, JB Hair Design, on Bellaire Avenue in Cleveland and operated it for 10 years before retiring. In her retirement she was very active volunteering at the Middleburg Heights Senior Center, where she made many friends and won several Bocce Ball trophies.. She walked most every day even into her early 90s. She was a voracious reader throughout her life. She thoroughly enjoyed her trips to the casinos. Jean was a very optimistic, resilient and fun-loving woman.
Family will receive friends Friday, June 30, 2023, from 10 am until 12 Noon at Craciun Funeral Home 14925 East Bagley Rd. Middleburg Heights, Ohio 44130. Followed by a rembrance service at 12 Noon.
