Sara Jean Dunlap

Sara Jean Dunlap, 83, passed away on August 25, 2023 in Middleburg, FL. She was born in England to the late, David and Doris Bell. Sara was an amazing and accomplished artist in all media forms. Sara’s passion was making many varieties and time period pieces made from porcelain and cloth, which are known and sold around the world. As a self taught sculptress, doll, puppet maker and seamstress, Sara made most all of her creations by hand, which took hours of painstaking bead work and sewing.Sara participated in Renaissance Faires all over the country for 40 years, and was loved by so many. Sara was involved in both Boy and Girls Scouts for many years. Being a Navy wife for 32 years, she was an Ombudsman serving many families while their spouses were deployed, offering comfort and counseling. Sara was highly involved in the community affairs and was well respected and admired. Most of all, Sara was most passionate about her family, and always supported and encouraged us to follow our dreams. We miss her terribly.

Sara is survived by her loving husband, Rodney Ray Dunlap; her children: Deborah Louise Perusse, Patrick Rodney (Jane) Dunlap and Bethany Dunlap; grandchildren: Joshua (Jessica) Perusse, Rebecca (Matt) Shuck, Sarah (Mark) Valentine, Dan (Kelly) Liberatore, Patrick (Dennis) Hildenbrandt, Katie (Mike) Tafelski, Madison (Pete) Przelski, Shane (Alyssa) Lamb, Brianna Howard, Ashley (Donnie) Dunlap-Jude, Dylan (Elizabeth) Ragsdale and Ethan Dunlap; great-grandchildren: Chelsea (Ken) Soracchi, Courtney (Christopher) Tafelski, Jenna Louise (Christian) Perusse, Abigail Herring, Emilia Herring, Owen Perusse, Dominic Shuck, Layla Shuck, Delilah Shuck, Aden Valentine, Thea Valentine, Zoe Valentine, Ella Przelski and Willow Przelski; great great-granddaughter, Julia Soracchi; and a host of extended family and friends all over the world.

Family is honoring her wishes for no formal service at this time.
