Virgil Loren Willson

Loren graduated from Miamisburg High School Class of 1982, where he played trombone in the marching band. For seven summers, from 1980 to 1986, Loren worked as a lifeguard at the Miamisburg city pool. He graduated from Miami University of Oxford, Ohio in 1986 with a Bachelor's of Arts in Systems Analysis where Loren was an active member of Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity. Loren worked for the Berry Company as a computer programmer until his retirement in 2010.

He was active in the Miamisburg Lions Club as the current treasurer and previously, the Jaycees. Loren was a donor to the Miamisburg Historic Plaza Theatre rejuvenation efforts. This was recognized by naming the theatre entrance the "Willson Family Lobby". Loren enjoyed spending time at his family cottage at Indian Lake, travelling and cruising with his friends, watching Survivor with his tribe, all things Disney, and especially trivia on Wednesday and Thursday nights.

In a final act of generosity, Loren saved and enhanced many lives through organ, tissue, and eye donation. A huge thank you to the CICU nurses and doctors at Kettering Medical Center for their incredible care.

Loren was preceded in death by his parents, Norma J. (Emrick) and Virgil P. Willson; aunts; and uncles.

He is survived by numerous cousins and many beloved friends.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 3:00 - 5:00 PM on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at GEBHART-SCHMIDT-PARRAMORE Funeral Home, 508 E. Linden Ave. Miamisburg, Ohio 45342.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Loren's memory may be made to Miamisburg Lions Club or the Miamisburg Historic Plaza Theatre.
