Sharing another precious moment with wonderful friends. 

Memories of Jim, will forever remain in our hearts. Jim’s, loving smile and laugh would always light up a room. He loved his family so much and loved telling his stories  of them. We have so many fond memories of Jim ,when we traveled in Europe in 2002. We had the best of times with Jim and Wendy, sharing stories with our German family.  Jim’s kindness and heartfelt love was always felt whenever we spent time together. We cherish our memories of Jim and Wendy, spanning several decades. Our love and prayers to    Wendy, and family.

My friend is gone and I hate it.  As a neighbor, Jim was always available to he!p me.  As a friend, we spent a lot of time on his patio in the summer bashing politicians and sharing jokes.

Wendy and Jim exhibited true old fashioned respect and love for one another. That is something to admire and I surely admire Wendy now for her courage.

I  miss you my frjend.

Our family was so blessed to enjoy many wonderful trips with Jim and his family at Dale Hollow Lake; so many memories and special times with a wonderful man.

This has been one of the hardest things for me to write, mostly  because I didn't get as many years with papaw (dad) as I had hoped!  This man was the kindest man in the world, who I truly respected above many people in my life.  He raised such a good son that he didn't have to but chose to.  To me that is man I wanted to get to know even more.  I lost my father in 2001 and for the first time in my adult life when I would talk to papaw I felt like I had a dad to listen to, he always was truthful and kind with his words even when times were hard.  I loved him with all my heart as if he was my own dad.  Unfortunately dad I was unable to ask you to give me away to your son, but you knew I wanted to in the end.  I promise to always be Chris's bestfriend until you two can be together again, be there for Mimi in sickness and health, as well be the best step momma to your sweet Gabby.

I am blessed to have known Jim.   He was a happy, funny, caring and generous man who loved "big".  Wendy, his kids, his grandkids, and his great granddaughter.   He was a great friend to many and all, and I'm honored to be one of them.  I miss his text messages with pictures of Annie.  I miss him!

Where do I start? The first time I met Jim and Wendy we had a immediate connection! They are both wonderful friends…Jim was always smiling and had a great personality…  He was always willing to help in whatever situation there was…He was a beautiful soul that we will miss dearly… He will be heavens blessing and our loss of a dear friend…. (PART ONE OF TWO)
My memories over our 49 years of marriage are far too many to name and some are far too personal to share, but I vividly remember all of our life together including the ups and downs that made our marriage so strong.  We laughed everyday and enjoyed our retirement together to the max.  We had a lot in common.  Our love of kids, animals, sports, the outdoors.   We were made for each other.  Jim was a wonderful dancer and  loved to dance,
and so did I.  We both enjoyed being grandparents and recently great grandparents.  Nothing brought more of a smile to his face and a twinkle in his eyes like the grandchildren/great grandchild that he loved so much.  There was nothing he wouldn't do for them. 

We often spoke of our memories of trips with friends and family.  Together we talked of the future and planned more of the same.
Our month in Europe was one of those special vacations with great friends Mona and Manfred.  Everyday was amazing and we hoped to return, this time including Italy.  We loved Virgin Gorda and St. Thomas where we vacationed numerous times with our son, Chris and his family, and Hawaii, (Oahu), seeing Pearl Harbor. We have enjoyed the State of Washington with Chris. We have had many amazing times with our wonderful friends, Cathy and Jim, and their kids and grandkids. Hot Crispy Creme Donuts in Destin after dinner, trips to Las Vegas and Gatlinburg and just having dinner together, playing games.  Jim loved " stealing the deal" playing Euchre which always resulted in a ruckus with Cathy and me. We would laugh until our sides hurt and tears ran down our faces.  All of our adventures boating and enjoying Cumberland, Norris and Dale Hollow with friends Dan and Jan and the ski club we belonged to until permanently settling on Dale Hollow Lake.  The ski trips we took to Vail, Beavercreek and Steamboat, Snowshoe and Seven Springs. The ski trip to Whistler with Chris.   The road trip the two of us took spontaneously two years ago

These are all wonderful memories....
BUT,
I have realized that day to day events are really the best and most important  memories and what I miss the most.  Just small things you take for granted as you go through life.   I miss his voice, his laugh and his beautiful blue eyes.  I miss our morning routine and having him next to me at night.  I miss our laughter, pranks and discussions.  I miss him so much it's painful.  The house has a sadness and no longer seems a home, it's just a house.  As we go through life, we take for granted that you will always be there for each other.  You just don't think about it much.  Jim seemed so healthy and strong, full of life, happiness and contentment.  Then in just 10 days he went from being diagnosed to gone.
We were both in shock at the news we received.  I thought we would get through it together.  Losing him was unthinkable.  He had no symptoms, no major warnings.  I am lost, brokenhearted and miss my partner in life and best friend.   I feel empty.  There is a huge void.   All the little things that define your day to day life are suddenly gone.  Nothing will ever feel the same. He was my rock and a loving, extraordinary husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.  He was my everything.  He adored all his grandchildren and great grandchild.  He loved his family. He made it clear how much he loved me. These were undoubtedly the best moments of our lives.  Nothing an outsider witnessed, but the personal memories that were our life together and I will hold in my heart forever. Nothing will ever be the same.  Jim was the love of my life. I miss him terribly.  Rest in Peace, honey, until we meet again. 

Jim and Wendy came into my life in an unusual way. They accepted me, Ronnie and my boys and loved us like their own. I will miss our daily texts and phone calls and about how fired up Jim would get over politics. He was a devoted OSU fan and I loved the texts and calls before, during and after the games to talk about what went right or wrong. He was a huge supporter of Cooper’s football career and hardly missed a game. He would get on me about how fast I drove to the games, but he knew I couldn’t wait to get to the field. He would text and call my boys just to chat and check in them. He and Wendy supported me when I lost my best friend in April 2021.  He was one of the nicest men that I’ve ever met and I miss him every day. I’m so blessed to have met Jim Scott and to call him a friend.  Julie Stewart

My heart hurts. Jim was the nicest, friendliest  person  I've  ever met. He was always  smiling and so kind. Our family has so many wonderful  memories of Jim. We will forever miss you and your smiling face.  Jim and wendy are like a second set of grandparents  for my boys.  They absolutely  loved Jim. One funny memory of Jim was, we had a cookout at our house. Jim was playing a game of corn hole  with  my youngest  son colton. ( He was 5 at the time) Jim threw his bean bags and colton picked them up and handed them to Jim. Jim thanked  him and told him what good manners he had. Colton  tells Jim  well that's  OK sir, I like helping the elderly.  Jim was laughing so hard he spit his drink out.  We all had a good laugh. We made it into a joke. I use to ask Jim if he wanted me to make him a plate of food, since he was elderly. We will greatly miss your great sense of humor and your contagious  smile. You will be missed my friend! We want to extend our deepest sympathies to Wendy and her family for the loss of Jim.  Jim was a wonderful neighbor to have next door.  We will always remember the kindness that Jim extended to our 6 year old grandson Leo, who would rather visit with Jim, Wendy and the dogs than hang out with us!  The last time Leo was with Jim he came back and told us that Mr. Jim was his best friend.  We shared this with Jim and he was so touched!  Our hope is that you find comfort and peace in all your wonderful memories of a great husband, father and friend.  

 MY FRIEND FRIENDLIEST-  Jim was one of the friendliest people I know. He could be in a crowd of strangers and  you would think you knew him for years. A great example of this was 48 years ago I was at a Monte Carlo with Jim and Wendy for the first time. When that event was over I knew him like he was my brother. Everyone loved Jim.
RAMBLER-There wasn't a day that I didn't come home from work and my husband and Jim weren't on the phone and he would ramble on about current events, politics, but mostly sports, at least 3-5 times a day. And if he couldn't get ahold of Jim, he would call me and start with a chuckle and say "Can you believe". I learned a lot about what was going on in this world with my daily newscaster.
INTELLIGENT-Jim was an industrial engineer at GM and he was so good at it, that when he retired they brought him back to consult. Why he even wrote a book for them and receive honors for it. But  you never heard anything about it as he wasn't one to brag about himself.
ENJOYED- eating out.. Eating out was pure enjoyment for all of us at least 3 times a week. The only problem with Jim is he would not make a decision as to where he wanted to go. Except in Destin. His favorite place was Pompano Joes where he always ordered "Mahi, Mahi, Diablo" That was his fav.
NAUTICAL-Jim love his weekends going to the lake. It was a family thing and he was all about family. They drove 4 hours each way every weekend. Skiing, swimming, boating, camping, eating and just relaxing was his love for many years.   
DANCING-Jim loved to dance. He loved good old rock and roll, the twist and slow dances with his favorite partner and the love of his life, Wendy. He was the life of parties and dances.
Jim was one of my dearest and closest friends. I will never forget all the good times we had together and how we laughed and cried. 48 years of a friendship that I will cherish forever. He called me sis and I thought of him as my brother. Miss you and Love you, Bro.   Cathy

It has taken a bit of time to gather my thoughts as the passing of my Dad has been the single biggest loss of my life.   My Dad meant everything to me…he was my mentor and my best friend.    Regardless of distance between us, Dad and I would talk on the phone at least twice a day for the past 10+ years.   We would discuss world events, Ohio State football, and anything else we found interesting.    One of the many incredible characteristics of Dad, was that he could create a story out of almost anything.   He was so enjoyable to talk with and listen.   He was wise and could make me smile in the darkest of hours.   We had the best of times on vacation together, and I will cherish those memories forever. I would not be anywhere in life without my Dad.    He gave me the wisdom to never stop trying to reach a goal, despite whatever adversity a challenge may present.    Dad always wanted the best of one's ability, always encouraging me to do better.    He would never cut corners and wanted the world for his kids/grandkids.   He always placed his family above and beyond everything else.   I will miss my Dad more than words can tell.    I miss you, Papaw, and wish so much I could have another 5 minutes to talk and spend time with you.   You were the best.  Are the best.  And I will be forever grateful for everything you have done for me.   Gabby, Jennifer, and I have incredibly enormous voids in our hearts that will take significant time to repair the loss, if ever.    I so look forward to talking again and will be on the watch for a sign from you letting me know you are doing ok.   I love and miss you terribly, Dad.

When the time came to move the puppy in, much to Jim’s shock, they opened the door to not just Sophie but another all white floppy eared surprise. Wendy asked me to bring who is now known as Rudy, she hadn’t given up on her pick of the litter, just for loving Jim’s. As he immediately started to shake his head, I knew it was only a momentary “no.” Jim’s love for Wendy overcame an extra puppy and like it must’ve all their lives together, 
totally stole the show. You didn’t need to know Jim long to feel the great loss left by his absence, we will miss him, the love he had for his wife, his laughter, and his contagious kindness.

Life has a way of gifting experiences that leave us forever better. Meeting Jim and the wife he adored, Wendy, in 2019 was one of those for me. I connected with this incredible couple through a mutual love for sheepadoodles. I first met Jim the day a puppy named Molly from my dog’s litter was ready to join their family. Contagiously warm, full of laughter or provoking your own, and perpetually smiling; Jim made you instantly feel like his friend since forever. His energy was magnified by the woman he absolutely adored. They are the kind of people you can’t help but watch and pay attention to, their love for each other filled up the entire room. Decades of shared love, the kind that to witness, made you just feel redeemed by it too.Kind and thoughtful, we stay connected through pictures and texts from Jim to let me share in the joy of Molly’s progress and her young furry life. When a final litter was born, Jim and Wendy came back to grow their family again by just one more. Jim fell hard for one, Wendy for another. With a win-you-over smile for miles, they settled on the puppy that caught Jim’s heart that day, Sophie. The mutual love of pups lent itself to stories about where Jim and Wendy had grown up,  and how they met (fate wouldn’t have had it any other way.) They were always meant to be each-others that was clear, those moments they shared with me will live on forever, honoring the gift it is to witness, even briefly, what a truly beautiful love story they wrote with their lives.When the time came to move the puppy in, much to Jim’s shock, they opened the door to not just Sophie but another all white floppy eared surprise. WHAT IS A BEST FRIEND.
In our lives we have people that come and go.  School friends from grade school to high school,.. college friends, friends in the service and work friends. But how many are BEST FRIENDS.

Jim Scott was one of those Best Friends to me.  I've known Jim for over 20 + years and we have grown closer and closer every year.

It was very unusual if we did not talk to each other everyday. Topics went from politics to sports and any crazy or serious situations,  we may have been facing at that time. But most of all we bonded over Ohio State Buckeyes Football. During game day we talked or texted multiple times per game. His son Chris would then get involved and it was 3 crazy arm chair coaches that never lost a game.
The times Jim and I spent together and the memories we shared brought tears of laughter that will never be forgotten.
Writing this may be one of the hardest things I've ever done. I have wanted to pick up the phone so many times to call him but I stop myself short,,, some how.
What I know for sure is that one day we will again be able to share what he introduced me...... So Jim.....keep the shot glass cold as well as the bottle. I will happy to share that glass of Fireball with you 
As we always ended many of our conversations either on the phone or in person.

Jim was one of the best people I’ve had the pleasure of knowing and loving. His love for my daughter, his great grand daughter,  Emery  was so strong he always had the biggest smile when he saw her. I’ll never forget him pushing her around the basement in the toy car he got her for Christmas he would do anything to make her happy, when she was a baby he was one of the only people to make her go to sleep just by holding her. I’ll always remind her of her papaw Jim show pictures and tell her stories of the memories we got to have with him. I’ll miss our dinner dates and wish we could have just one more. I hope your resting in peace papaw. 

To the best papaw in the world I thank you for everything you have done for me and can’t tell you enough how appreciative I am for everything. I wouldn’t have a lot of what I have if it wasn’t for you and wouldn’t be the man I am today without you. Went out of your way for me more times then I can count, drove me to so many off season wrestling tournaments, was at every wrestling match through high school and even ones hours away in college.  Was also at every football game I played. Thank you for all the lessons you taught me and advice you gave me. Emery loved you so much and I’m sure going to miss seeing you laugh with her. I’m really gunna miss those phone calls on the way home from work or when I have exciting news you were always one of the first  people I told. Life sure won’t be the same without you I love you so much papaw until we meet again. 

Jim was a wonderful man. Some of my fondest memories of him are the beautiful Christmas’ we’ve shared, and of course all the sporting events for my nephew Trenten (His Grandson). He was always willing to talk about life help you in anyway he could. Made all feel included. I will forever remember his big hugs and smile. Love you always! 

Jim was an amazing man and will be missed dearly. I’m so glad our families were able to spend a few Thanksgivings together as well as family get togethers. Jeff will definitely miss their Fireball Thanksgiving shots.  Many prayers and love to you Wendy. 

Jim has been A part of my life since I was 15 and has been like a second dad to me. I will sure miss our phone calls, his hugs and his contagious laugh. I will cherish all of our time that we spent at sporting events and driving to them together. And of course his love and excitement when they had walking tacos. He was a dedicated grandpa. He truly was one of the best. I am going to miss him tremendously. 

Jim and I formed a friendship bond by deterring muskrats from the pond in front of his house. Critter control wanted about $300.00 to set traps and $50.00 per animal caught in the traps. Over the two years we deterred 13 muskrats from the pond. This was Jim. He wanted to save money for the HOA and keep the muskrats from doing more damage to the shores of the pond. What I admired about Jim was his caring about how everything looked in front of his house, namely the pond. He also assisted in the purchase of a new airator for the pond. I will miss this good friend,

One thing that can be said of Jim , is that he Loved his Family and Friends unconditionally. I am one of the lucky ones who got to be part of this family. We have spent many Holidays and Family gatherings together and we went on road trips for sporting events. Jim always made you feel special, always had a smile and you always had a good laugh when he was around.  He will be missed by everyone who knew him. He was ONE OF A KIND 

So sorry Wendy for your loss Jimmy was a great person and a great cousin more like a bother to me and my two sisters we live next door from him he was the first to get a dog and he shared Lassie with us I’m going to miss talking to him and we always talk about r dogs and I agree with Janie about his laugh RIP Jimmy tell we met again ❤️


Jim Scott was the golden boy extraordinaire to our Grandma, our Aunts and Uncles and to all of the cousins!
We all strived to grow up to be like Jim!
He sat the bar high and led by example for us to be our very best! He was a great role model.
Some of my fondest memories was that of Jim’s laughter! His laughter would light up the room!
He was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by those who cared for him.

I met Jim and Wendy when they adopted one of my adult Newfoundland dogs, Jeannie. Later, they also took in Lucy, a naughty puppy at that time. Jim worshiped the ground that Jeannie walked on and I never worried about Jeannie and Lucy being well cared for. I have never found more dedicated dog parents than Jim and Wendy. The friendship that grew was based on more than just the dogs, although dog stories were the #1 topic of conversation most of the time.  You can tell a lot about people from the way they treat their pets, Jim definitely earned his place in heaven.  Wendy, you have my most sincere condolences. Jim will be missed by many.


I’m one of many Jimmy’s cousin we lived in a apartment building in Missouri when we were little.Jimmy was like a brother to me,he would come over and play with me and my 2 sisters.This is funny and long ,we were playing and Jimmy was a robber so I had a play gun and shot him ,he fell on our little play table and it broke in half ,we all were afraid we would get in trouble but laughed for a long time. There are so many memories but that one I’ll never forget,just like never forgetting Jimmy.🙏🏻❤️
