He was born July 1, 1931 in Cleveland, Ohio the son of Carl A. and Louise (Dost) Putzier.
Carl served his country in the United States Army, counter intelligence. He and his wife, Dorothy, lived in North Royalton, Ohio for 34 years where he was head of the architectural division at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. Carl was an Eagle Scout and was the past president and Lieutenant Governor of the North Royalton Kiwanis Club. He enjoyed bowling, golfing and playing with the grandkids. Carl was a loving husband, father, grandfather/great grandfather and was happiest when surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his daughters, Lyn (Dave) Grable and Jan Jones; grandchildren, Matthew (Laura) Grable, Bethany (Brian) Smith, Amy (Sam) Burrows, and Erin Lehnert; great gradchildren, Scarlett and Lincoln Grable and Delaney Smith; sister, Shirley (Bob, deceased) Jungbluth; as well as his brother-in-law, Don (Marlene) Wanyerka.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Dorothy Putzier.
A memorial service to celebrate Carl’s life will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Southminster Presbyterian Church, 7001 Far Hills Ave., Dayton, OH 45459 with Rev. Dr. Nancy Birdsong officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to GEBHART-SCHMIDT-PARRAMORE Funeral Home, Miamisburg.
