She was born on August 3, 1937 in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of John and Nettie (Wallace) Taylor.
Alice’s parents pastored in Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan but she mostly grew up in the Dayton area where her home church was Bethel Temple. Her last two years of high school, she completed at Southwestern Assembly of God boarding school & college in Waxahachie,Texas, where she met John Roy Swint. She graduated in 1955.
Alice worked as a cashier at the Aid Investment Corporation on Ludlow St. in downtown Dayton. John worked as a loan officer. When they married, John moved to a different location so they could both keep their jobs.
Alice & John married on September 29, 1956. They would celebrate 67 anniversaries together. Alice worked as a bookkeeper in other companies thru the years, but stayed home to raise her family and help with the church in 1970. A decade later, she returned to work as the church secretary, typing the church bulletin and counting attendance for over 40 years.
Alice served in many ministries at MAG thru the years including Sunday School teacher, WMs, Girls Ministries, VBS, and Choir. Alice, Ruby McIntyre and Debbie Snyder began the Missionettes program at MAG in 1971. Alice served as the Greater Dayton Sectional Leader for over 20 years.
Alice is survived by her loving husband of nearly 68 years, Pastor John Swint; children, Gary Swint, Brenda (Doug) Green of Brea, California, and Karen (Salvatore) Leone; grandchildren, Jocelyn (Bryant) Donaldson, Charisse (Chris) Groh, Paul Green, Vinnie (Christina) Leone, Mandy Grilliot, Kaitlin Pigg, John Pigg, Lauren Pigg, Ocean Leone; great grandchildren, Zea and James; Nico, Teo, and Lydia; Reagan, Ashtun, and Tyson; Keegan, JR, Kiara, and Kylah; sister, Kaye Coriell, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Darlene Jackson.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-6 PM on Monday, July 22, 2024 at the Miamisburg Assembly of God. Funeral services will follow at 6 PM with Pastors Chuck Sharp, Doug Green and Lamar Cooper officiating. A private family committal service will take place at Willow View Cemetery at a later time. Services are entrusted to GEBHART-SCHMIDT-PARRAMORE Funeral Home, Miamisburg.
