Linda Slote Quick, age 75, of Dania, Florida passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023 in her home. Linda was born in Miami, Florida and lived in various parts of Miami throughout her childhood with her parents Joyce and Milton Slote. She attended Coral Gables High School followed by Newcomb College, the women's college of Tulane University located in New Orleans. She returned to Miami shortly after graduating from Newcomb and received a master's degree in management from Florida International University.
Linda spent her entire career in the healthcare industry in South Florida and is beloved by the many friends and colleagues she met through her work. She worked at the Health Council of South Florida and was its Executive Director from 1982 through 1994. From 1994 until her retirement in 2016 she was the President of the South Florida Hospital and Healthcare Association. After her retirement in 2016, she founded Quick Bernstein Connections, which allowed her to continue as a consultant to the healthcare community in South Florida. Linda loved connecting with people, and helping others form connections, so the name of her consulting company was the perfect fit.
In addition to her career in healthcare, Linda volunteered for a number of different boards and organizations, including Camillus Health Concern, Carrfour Supportive Housing, the Pace program of the Miami Jewish Health System, and the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce.
Linda married Jerry Bernstein in 2012, and they loved to laugh together, talk about politics and go out to dinner with friends. Linda adored Jerry's family, including his two sisters and many nieces and nephews.
Linda was a wonderful mother to her children Allison and Joe, a supportive mother-in-law to their spouses, Nate Meyer and Katie Medlin, and a devoted "Granny" to her grandchildren Juliet, Elizabeth and William. She loved nothing more than visiting her grandkids in Los Angeles and St. Louis. She is greatly missed by her family, friends, and the many people she connected with throughout her life.
A funeral service for Linda will be held Thursday, August 3, 2023 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at Lakeside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 10301 NW 25th Street, Miami, FL 33172.
