Dr. Jose Joaquin Diego Pontigo, 92, of Miami, Florida passed away April 12, 2023. He was born June 14, 1930 in Cuba to Raimundo and Matilde Diego. He is preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife of 41 years, Maria Oria.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories, a daughter, Margarita (Miguel) Massens, a son, Joaquin (Vicky) Diego, six grandchildren, Margarita (Aaron), Miguel, Celina (Carlin), Manuel, Melissa and Jessica and two great-grandchildren, Noah and Jaden.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in memory of Jose Diego to San Jose Obrero Foundation or Misioneros Del Camino.
In loving remembrance of Jose Diego, let us all recite the Lord’s prayer:
Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM at Caballero Rivero Westchester, 8200 SW 40 Street, Miami, Florida 33155.
The family requests the honor of your presence to celebrate the life of Jose J. Diego on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at 12:00 PM at St Brendan Catholic Church, 8725 SW 32 St, Miami, Florida 33165.
Following the mass, the committal service will occur at Our Lady Of Mercy, 11411 NW 25 St, Doral, Florida 33172.
