SEGAL, FRED 89, of Weston passed away peacefully on Sept 12. Fred was born in Detroit on May 5th, 1929 and moved to Miami at age 11. He graduated from Miami High and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with an electrical engineering degree and as a fraternity brother of Pi Lambda Phi. He had an incredible mathematical mind and a memory for facts and trivia, and a passion for sports. He loved to play and watch golf and especially loved baseball. After college, Fred married Harriet Weisberg, who has been the love of his life for 68 years. Shortly after marriage, he joined the Navy, became a lieutenant, and worked on the first Taurus guided missile systems. Fred established and expanded two successful electrical supply companies, Allied Electric Supplies, in 1956, and Electrical Supplies, Inc. (ESI), in 1976. He was President of TIED, the largest member owned electrical marketing group in the United States, currently known as "IMARK". He was revered and respected by all his business and industry associates. Fred is preceded in death by his loving parents, Sam and Phoebe Kaplan Segal and his sister, Mary. He is survived by his wife Harriet, brother Mike, sons Jeffrey (Karen) and Jim (Cantor Lisa) Segal, daughters Susan (CJ) Shabareck and Sandi Meyer, grandchildren Kevin, Danny, Stephanie, Lindy, Andrea, Steven, Hayley, Matthew, and Dylan. He was deeply loved by his family and will be profoundly missed. Services will be held Sept 14 at 2 pm Mount Nebo, Kendall, 5900 SW 77th Ave. Miami, Fl. 33143.
