Bart Feiler finished saying the long goodbye on January 11, 2023 after a four year battle with Alzheimer's. Bart was born in Brooklyn and moved to Miami as a teenager, graduating miami high in 1955. His parents were of modest means, so undeterred he put himself through the University of Miami by driving a diaper delivery truck and served ROTC and in the Air Force Reserve.
Bart graduated from UM in 1959 and married his college sweetheart Lynda in 1961. Before he got married, Bart was hired in 1060 as the seventh employee at Budd Mayer Company a small food brokerage in Miami. It was the only job he ever had, and he retired 40 years later as the president of the company with 1500 employees after having become a national leader in his business.
Bart was known for his style, his humor, and his ni-nisense determination. Although his station in life changed over the years, his sensibilities never did. He lived in the same house for 56 years; was married to the same woman for 49 years, until she passed in 2010; and he made friends easily and kept them forever.
Bart is survived by his sons Michael (Anna) and Mark (Mylene), and his four grandchildren and his sister Sheila (Arnold) Hantman. Funeral service for Barton will be held Sunday, January 15, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Riverside Gordon Memorial Chapels at Mount Nebo (Kendall), 5900 SW 77th Ave, Miami, FL 33143 at 11am, followed by shiva at Michael and Anna's home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Alzheimer's Foundation or a charity of your choice.
