Ada enjoyed cooking, traveling, being with family, reading, crossword puzzles and enjoying the arts. She loved playing board games with her family and was always laughing. She lived with such grace and poise. She always made others feel loved and appreciated.
Ada was the daughter of the late Fernando and Elvira Serrano Lopez. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roberto Fonseca; one grandchild, Robert Fonseca; one brother, Fernando Lopez.
Ada is survived by two sons, Dr. Olimpo Fonseca, and wife, Marilyn of Longs, SC and Roberto “Chacho” Fonseca and wife, Consuelo of Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico; one daughter, Ada Maria Samarelli and husband, Nicola of Italy. Eight grandchildren, Nannette Fonseca Nelson, Amy Fonseca Verdi and husband Patrick, Adrianna Fonseca, Ashley Fonseca, Alison Fonseca, Dr. Carmen Rackley and husband Raymond, Roberto Fonseca and wife Lizette and Caridad Ferrer & husband Javier and 13 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Fonseca was a very devoted Catholic.
The family will receive friends for a rosary prayer service from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Caballero Rivero Little Havana Funeral Home, 3344 SW 8th Street, Miami, FL 33135. A Holy Mass will be held in her memory at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Saint Dominic Catholic Church, 5909 NW 7th Street, Miami, FL 33126. Following the mass, a private family burial will occur at Miami Memorial Park, 6200 SW 77th Avenue, Miami, FL 33143.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
