Thomas Lee Beatty Sr., age 84, of Kenner, Louisiana passed away on Friday March 9, 2018 with his loving family by his side. Thomas was born June 12, 1933 in Bude, Mississippi to Kathleen Kiggins Beatty and Pearlie Beatty. Thomas was raised in Uptown New Orleans and graduated in Fortier High School. He had a long time career as a Taxi Cab owner/operator and retired from United Cab Service.
Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Rebecca R. Beatty; son Thomas Beatty, Jr., (Holly); daughter Vickie Beatty (Steven); and son Michael Beatty (Kathryn); brother Pearlie Beatty; grandchildren Robbie Beatty (Belinda), Melissa Beatty, Carrie McLemore, Christopher McLemore (Stephanie), Jessica Cruz (Alex), Randal Turner, Jr., Jacob Turner, Patrick Beatty, William Beatty, and Sarah Beatty and 12 great-grandchildren.
Thomas was preceded in death by; son Randal Turner (Melinda); father Pearlie Beatty and mother Kathleen Kiggins Beatty; brother Stewart Beatty; brother Carewe Beatty and sister Pearleen Beatty Ranger.
Thomas enjoyed playing the drums, watching the Saints and Cubs. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
A visitation for Thomas will be held Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, Louisiana. A memorial service will occur Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home Chapel, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, Louisiana. Entombment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, 11316 River Road, St. Rose, Louisiana.
