After high school, she moved to New Orleans where she would work as a secretary for the Director of Player Personnel of The New Orleans Saints during the team's founding year, as well as a fragrance model at Dillard's and Macy's Department Stores.
She was preceded in death by her mother Helen Corley (Pellerin), father Omar Stutes, step-father O.B. Corley, adopted father George Gozan, and sister Flora Ann Hoffpauir (Stutes). She thoroughly enjoyed socializing and dining out at a variety of local restaurants several times per week, with a particular affinity for Austin's Seafood & Steakhouse on W. Esplanade Avenue in Metairie.
