Robert (Bobby) Scroggins, age 67, died November 24, 2022, in New Orleans, LA. He was born January 17, 1955, in Kinder, LA. In death, he joined his parents, Elva Joseph and Coralie Gidlow Scroggins; his brother Tommy Scroggins; and many beloved friends and family members. Since Bobby’s death, his precious brother Curtis has joined him.
He is survived by the love of his life, Linda Wood Scroggins. They were married 47 years and traveled the world together. He is also survived by his daughter Crystal and his favorite son-in-law Daniel Broussard. Bobby is survived by several siblings and in-laws who will forever love him: Skipper Scroggins, Bill and Kay Scroggins, Fran and Phil Morris, and Jerome and DeDe Scroggins. Bobby also leaves behind numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends who adored him.
There are no words to express the gifts that Bobby left behind. First, he was a donor with the Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency, and his family hopes their grief turns to hope for others through organ and tissue donation. Bobby leaves behind a legacy of deep love for his family and friends. He worked hard in providing for his family and was dedicated to supporting them. He knew no strangers and spoke and laughed with all around him —no matter if he was in a restaurant, a store, or sitting on his front porch. He was incredibly proud of showing pictures of his family, his home, and his precious granddogs, Arya and Roux, to others. He was quick to help others and was generous in spirit and love to all. He loved taking photographs of wildlife in national parks. He loved the Saints and LSU. He was a huge grill master who loved nothing more than cooking too much food and giving everyone the meat sweats. The world has lost a truly good man, and everyone who knew him feels the loss deeply in their soul.
Bobby was an Army veteran and served in the 82nd Airborne Division as a paratrooper, an experience that he loved and remembered fondly. Bobby will be interred at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Slidell, LA, on Monday, December 19th at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity or veterans’ charity to spread Bobby’s legacy in greater circles.
