Rita LaGarde was born March 7, 1919 to the late Thomas A. and Celine Morvant LaGarde in New Orleans, LA and entered into eternal rest at the age of 93 on Friday, August 31, 2012 at 6:30 AM at Colonial Oaks Living Center in Metairie, LA. Two sisters, Althea and Norma LaGarde preceded her in death. Ms. LaGarde was a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church. Ms. LaGarde retired from Bell-South Telephone Company. She leaves a devoted caretaker of 10 ½ years, Ms. Pearl Coleman. There will be a visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA on Friday morning, September 7, 2012 beginning at 10:00 AM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 AM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel.
