Michael August Delord Jr.

Michael A. Delord, Jr. passed away peacefully on January 20, 2016 at the age of 85 surrounded by his family. He was born in New Orleans, La on February 3, 1930 and resided there until 2001 when he moved to Bardstown, Ky. and relocated back to Metairie in 2015 to be with his loving family again. He was the loving husband of Margaret Delord who preceded him in death. He is the son of the late Michael A. Delord, Sr., and Ruth Hines Delord, and also proceeded in death by his sister Barbara D. Engman. He is survived by his brother, Robert Delord Sr., (Pam), his nieces Deborah Schexnayder (Keith), Susan Lacava, Stacy Helm (Joey), and nephew Robert Delord, Jr., (Melissa). He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Upon returning home he worked for the US Post Office for 30 years. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. A special thanks to his caretakers Claudette, Ruby and Lynne. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass celebrating his life at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd. in Metairie, La. on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 1:00 pm with visitation from 11:00 am until the time of the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Louis # 3 Cemetery immediately following.
