Mary Denise Martinez

Mary “Denise” Martinez left this life for a better one on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at the age of 58. She joined her loving husband of 38 years, Marco Antonio Martinez, who preceded her in death on Friday, December 9, 2022. Denise is survived by her two loving children, Marco Martinez, Jr. and Elizabeth Martinez. She is also survived by her devoted sister, Mildred Lawes Mayeux (James Mayeux) and a host of nieces and nephews. Denise was a light in the life of everyone who knew her. She was a unique soul who could befriend anyone she spoke with and cared for every child she met as if they were her own. She was a beloved teacher to her students, someone who could see the bright side of every scenario. She was selfless and greatly loved by all who knew her.

Family and friends are invited to share in a celebration of Denise and Marco’s life on Friday, January 27, 2023, at St. Francis Xavier Church, 444 Metairie Rd. in Metairie, LA.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 am with a Memorial Mass at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at LakeLawn Cemetery in New Orleans, LA.
