Luisa Llull Cazabon

Luisa Llull Cazabon passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at age 85. She will be remembered as an unwavering light to all who knew her and a strong matriarch to those proud to call her family. She was a devoted wife of 40 years to the late Juan Cazabon. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jaime Santiago Llull and Luisa Munoz Llull, her son, Dr. Pedro Cazabon, and her sister, Carmen Llull. Luisa is survived by her daughter, Patricia Cazabon, her son, Juan Carlos Cazabon (Heather), and her daughter-in-law, Tiffany Cazabon. She leaves behind her grandchildren, Jack, Julia, George, Lilly, and Harry, and siblings Santiago Llull (Carol), Carlos Llull (Luz), and Maria L. Nogueira (Juan Carlos).

Luisa was born in Cienfuegos Las Villas, Cuba, where she met her beloved Juan. Together, they settled in Metairie, Louisiana, where she has resided for the past 60 years. She served for 30 years as a supervisor at the Jefferson Parish Community Center, where she dedicated herself to providing for those in need. She was a parishioner of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church and a faithful supporter of Nuestra Señora de la Caridad (Our Lady of Charity). She was a beautiful pianist, a talent she shared with dozens of students throughout her years.

Above all, Luisa was a faithful wife and selfless mother to her three children. Later in life, her most cherished role was as beloved “Aba” to her five grandchildren. She leaves an enduring legacy of storied recipes, a love of music, and a deep appreciation for family. Her many friends remember Luisa as a social butterfly, always dressed for a celebration. She was resilient and full of life through all her chapters, and her absence will be deeply felt.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, Metairie, Louisiana, on Saturday, June 15, beginning at 9 a.m., followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to the Pedro Cazabon Internal Medicine Innovation Fund at ochsner.org/pedrocazabon.
