Mama Laura was an incredible woman who never came into contact with a stranger. As I was growing up even thou she didn't come into my life until my 20s. She taught me numerous life lessons one was to be a strong person an she has passed on her helping heart unto others to me. She was also one who we all turned to for advice an she sure knew I was horrible with math an so I'd go to her with my check account an it would drive her nuts that I had to have everything even amount but in my mind it was easier to me so it seemed. Others were things I didn't like to eat she got me to eat. There was never a time I remember that she was not in the kitchen cooking but couldn't cook small because we all knew if we were hungry that's where we could go to get a plate an advice or just vent I will always love u ma keep watching over us

My beautiful sister Laura your time here was way to short. I know that you have done more than most in your short time to help everyone around you. Everyone's needs in your life came before yours. God will have a special place for you. May your continued journey through this next chapter reunite all of your siblings nephews and parents with you to watch over us all. I love you so much! Mom I was your oldest child, I have many memories I will cherish forever. I wish would have had more time to make more cause it just seems like it wasn’t enough time. I struggle everyday wishing this wasn’t true. Feeling compelled to call you for things. I wish I could wake up and say that it was just a nightmare but I can’t. Everyday without you will be a struggle. But I have my girls to remind me of how good a mother and grandmother you are. I had a lot of practice with children from you allowing me to help with my siblings. I had a lot of babysitting jobs that I called to get your advice on when I was growing up. I learned even more from you once I started having children. And I was still learning from you until the day you gained your wings. You showed me what the true meaning of fearless and strength was my whole life but I really saw it in your last days. I loved hearing the stories from when you were a child and about family who passed before I was born. You were TRUELY talented. You could cook, work on cars, fix boo boos, you were a teacher, anything you put your mind to you made it happen. When my kids came along I saw the softer side of you that you kept hidden just for your grand babies. You kept family traditions passing on through the generations. I learned from the best mother there ever was. I just hope I can be as amazing of a mother and one day when the time is right a grandmother as you were to us 4 kids and all 10 of your grandchildren.. I was so proud to call you my mom. You always knew what the right thing to do was. Especially when my anxiety/panic attacks started and we stayed up for three days not knowing what to do. Finally you took me to the hospital we were both so tired but you never left my side not for a minute. Fly high mom watch over us and give all my babies hugs and kisses for me when you see them and let them know I loved them too. Love you always mom, love your flooptaloolie

Mom,  it has taken so many days to even write anything because it does not seem real ! It honestly feels like your going to come through the door and say gotcha!   This is real though , and this is hard.    Words cannot even begin to describe the feelings that each of us is feeling , being so busy has helped keep things at bay but the tears will come the saddness will overwhelm but for now we are just at peace knowing that you no longer hurt ! 
I have gotten to love you for 32 years and it still is not enough.   Growing up I wanted to be just like you.   You knew everything all the answers , the advice , everything.   I can remember saying I wish I can be as great as my mom when I grow up.   Now that I am grown up I need you more than ever before, I wasn’t ready for you to go home , but I know you have gave us all of your knowledge it just has to be unlocked!   
We were truly blessed to have the most amazing angel in our lives.  We will continue your traditions and remember to always give it to God !   You have showed me that the best things in life are free, family is important, don’t sweat the small stuff, forgive people, work together through your issues, keep your private stuff private, and most importantly take care of each other.    Everything that you have told us and taught us in life will help us get through things even though your not here you are and will guide us !   Positive is always better than negative in so many ways !  It’s very hard to say goodbye so I will not say that, I will always say see you later I love you mom and hope to make you proud ! Watch over us and protect us ! You will always be a part of us , and we will continue to strive to be better people because that’s what you did and the impact you made on so many peoples lives have just been amazing !

This still doesn't feel real. I'm ready to call you and invite you over for dinner. I loved cooking and having you over because it gave you a break from cooking and because you always complimented my food ❤ You taught me so much about what it meant to be a great mother and person. You showed me that materialistic items had little value in comparison to having a good heart. I was beyond blessed to have you in my life and to be the grandmother of my son. Connor will forever hear about the many memories we made as a family and your spirit will always remain with us. Thank you for being a mom to me. It was such a privilege to feel your love. Rest in peace. I love you!

Laura was 1 of my 7 siblings.  She was a lot older than me, so she was like a mom to me growing up. People  really thought I was her daughter when she would push me in my stroller.  When we got older, she was more like a big sister.....and still gave awesome advice, even as an adult. She was so many things to so many different people. She was an amazing person, inside and out.  She was one of the strongest people I've ever met.  I used to like being the "baby sister".   That is, until I realized that meant I would probably have to endure the pain of losing them all, one by one.  No one is ever truly ready -- but I wasn't ready yet, none of us were ready yet.   I pray for everyone to have the strength to go on, comforted by the memories of all the great times we spent with you.  Good night, sweet sister. It's not goodbye..... .just a see u later!

There is no love like a mothers love. I am truly blessed to have had such a wonderful woman to mold me into the man I have become today. Mom has taught me that even in ur darkest days there is a beautiful light. To look to god for answers. And even tho family may but heads they are always there to lean on. Mom has showed me that materialistic things are irrelevant and the memories you make are what’s important. Mom has taught me that if you want something you go for it and never give up. She taught me how to be compassionate and how to love with everything in me. She taught me that the gift of love doesn’t have a price tag. She has instilled in me how to be strong even when I want to fall. She has showed me the best things in life and none of them come from money.

My grandma was everything to me. She was my go to for advice on anything, my motivational speaker when I was down, my bestfriend. There was never a moment she wasn’t there for me, especially with school. She came to everything for school from elementary, to middle school, to high school and even college.  I am forever grateful for my grandmother and all she has done for me and without her guidance I wouldn’t be where I am today. I love you always Mawmaw, RIP ❤️. 

My mom was the best she never lead us or our kids an even our friends down the wrong path ... she was very caring supportive and loving mother wife friend and grandmother she would be sick and still be there to help .... I met Laura and Aj thru my Sister and her Ex Husband. He did some electrical work for them and shortly afterwards they were in a terrible car accident in which they hurt, but recovered I had privilege of being friends to her and her children. She always put her husband and children First. Then came grandkids and great grandkids and they was her world she was never too tired for her grandkids. She will be greatly missed by me and husband and my sister too; Fly high with Angels and tell my mom and brother I said hello

so many memories over the years ,she was , a great lady, friend you could go to her and she could solve any  thing I will miss her  dearly.

This woman meant the world to me! She helped me so much throughout school and just in life in general! She has inspired me to try and be an amazing, strong willed woman and I hope to be just that! If I could be half the woman she is, I think that I would be set for life.

Laura was the beloved wife of Anthony J. “AJ” Gautreau Sr., and loving mother of Jennifer Gautreau Hebert, Ashley Renee Gautreau, Anthony Joseph Gautreau, Jr., and Dustin Travis Gautreau, daughter of the late Emile Travis “ET” Prejean and Irene Landry Prejean, sister of Dennis J. Prejean, Mary P. “Beth” Hanson, Steven H. Prejean, Angela P. DeMelo and the late Cynthia P. English, Linda P. Craig, and Timothy E. Prejean.   She also leaves behind her 10 grandchildren, Amanda, Heather, Jayce, Brayden, Kiya, Alex, Connor, Timmy, Lyeam and Myracle.
