Brother of the late Ruth Y. Hebert (and husband, Anthony) and Vallery Y. Oliveri (and husband, Frank Jr.).

Son of the late Alma T. Riemann and Philip Chapman Lavale Young.

Loving God-father of Sissy O. Filizola (and husband, John), Timothy “Timmy” Ellis and Jamie F. McAdams (and husband, John).

Devoted and loving uncle of Vallery Oliveri, Cindy and Jamie Lynn Ellis, Frank J. Oliveri III (and wife, Maryjo), David, Kevin and Greg Ellis.

Proud great-uncle of Jodie F. Calcagno (and husband, Jerry), John A. Filizola (and wife, Debbie), Frank Oliveri IV (and wife, Karen), Katherine O. Zeringue (and husband, Glenn), Korie O. Giglio (and husband, Tony), Michael Oliveri, Michael, Elizabeth, Stacy, Kevin Jr., Angela, Dustin , Ashley Ellis and the late Anthony Hebert Jr.

He loved all his nieces and nephews and is survived by many great-great- nieces, nephews and friends.

Mr. Young was an Honorably discharged United States Naval Veteran of WW II , serving in the Pacific Theatre, making eight land invasions driving the Higgins boats, a member of the National LST Association, and a retired Stationary Engineer with Chateau Notre Dame Nursing Home after over 20 years of service.

A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, and a resident of Metairie, Louisiana for over 50 years.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass from Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home Chapel 4747 Veterans Blvd. Metairie, on Wednesday May 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m.

Interment in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until time of services.
