Joan Sicard

Joan Marguerite Swetman Sicard, 82, passed away on April 10, 2013 at the Louisiana Heart Hospital in Lacombe, La. She was born on December 5, 1930 in Biloxi, MS to Joseph William Swetman Jr. and Marguerite Corbett Swetman.

Joan grew up in New Orleans and graduated McMain High School for Girl in New Orleans in 1948.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Marguerite Swetman, her first son Mark Sicard, her half- sister Geraldine Lagarde Chastant, and half- brother Joseph Lagarde.

Joan is survived by her loving husband Raymond Sicard, of 62 years and is lovingly remembered by her children, Arthur Sicard (his wife, Helen) and William Sicard (his wife, Jan), her granddaughters, Leanne S. Frenkel (her husband, Brandon), Rayanna Sicard and Kaelynn Sicard and her great granddaughter Madison Frenkel.

Joan enjoyed sailing and was always ready to sail over the horizon, enjoyed sewing for her family, and was ready and able for any activity with her sons.

Visitation will be held at Leitz- Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Boulevard, Metairie, La on Friday, April 19, 2013 with reception starting at 2pm and service at 3:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
