Jean Shaughnessy Vaughn passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, February 19, 2013. Jean was born in Monroe, LA, on September 17, 1943, to the late Nell York Shaughnessy and Francis Xavier Shaughnessy. She is survived by her loving sons Jay and Jeff Vaughn, brothers, Francis Shaughnessy, Jr., and Mike Shaughnessy (Billie), sister, Kathleen (Jack) Spencer, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jean was very active with her family, as well as at the National World War II Museum, New Orleans, LA, where she volunteered her time and attended many functions.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Memorial Gathering at Garden at Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie, LA, on Saturday, February 23, 2013, between 3:00-5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the National World War II Museum, 945 Magazine St., New Orleans, LA 70130, in Jean’s name would be appreciated.
