Our loving Mother, Hazel Driscoll Molenaar, born December 12, 1931, received her Angel Wings on October 11, 2024, at the age of 92 and is now with her Heavenly Father. She is survived by her loving daughters Diane M. Derbins (Dennis), Terry M. Dufresne (Roland), Sally A. Molenaar (Jose’) and cherished grandchildren Pamela M. Derbins, Christine D. Graham (Taylor), Brittany M. Dufresne and Megan D. Becnel (Adam) and cherished great grandchildren Lila, Clark and Joan Graham and Archie Becnel. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Richard P. Molenaar, Jr., her parents George H. Driscoll, Sr. and Hazel K. Driscoll, her siblings George H. Driscoll, Jr. and Patricia Whitehill. She leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews. She was an avid fan of Elvis Presley, football and the Kentucky Derby. Due to her husband’s health issues, she assumed his role as President of City Glass and Mirror Co. in 1990, a role she loved, including visiting jobsites, wearing a hard hat and riding on scaffolding. She was always inspecting the work to ensure City Glass’s reputation was upheld. She was more than a boss to her employees. Her daughters were lucky enough to be gifted with the same determination and grit she displayed during her lifetime. She graduated from McDonough High School and attended Loyola University on a scholarship to Pharmacy School. The family would like to extend special thanks to her caregivers, LaNita and Kim, for their kindness and compassion. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, visitation will begin at 11:30 AM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 1:30 PM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel.
