George Henry Comeaux Sr., born July 23, 1926 in Edgard, Louisiana, died on Friday morning, February 20, 2015. He was raised in New Orleans where he lived for most of his life. For the past decade he has resided in Kenner, Louisiana with his beloved wife, Rose Betty Aucoin Comeaux. They have been happily married for over 65 years. He is preceded in death by his father, Albert Joseph Comeaux, mother, Camilla Cecelia Laraway, four brothers: Larry, Albert, Amedee, and Aubry, three sisters: Helen Burns, Gloria Hanley, and Nancy Blanque, and one grandchild, Courtney Rose. He is survived by his five wonderful sons and their loving wives: George Jr. (Sandra), Steven (Carol), Joseph (Deborah), Brian (Dianna), and Kenneth (Jamie), eleven wonderful grandchildren: Lindsay, Kelly, Nicole, Maghen Comeaux Dodge, Antonia "Tonie", Ashley, Evan (Callye), Steven Jr., Ryan, Chris, and Brian Jr., one great-grandchild, Jordyn Dodge and a host of nieces and nephews. George graduated from Samuel J. Peters High School in 1943, and served inthe South Pacific as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army. He is a retired electrician from IBEWLocal 130, with 65 plus years as a member, a past governor of New Orleans Moose Lodge 35, member of American Legion Post 288, and VFW Metairie Post 6640. George was 88 years old and loved to play golfwith his sons. He loved his family gatherings, especially at Christmas. He and his wife loved the casinos, but as time went by they enjoyed being at home with one another. George lived life to the fullest, and will be greatly missed, but not forgotten. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service from LEITZ-EAGAN Metairie, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 12:00 noon.
