Florence Elizabeth Baker

Florence Elizabeth Baker passed away peacefully on Friday evening, March 19, 2021 in Grantville, Georgia. She was a native New Orleanian born in Metairie, Louisiana on April 22, 1930. She is survived by her children, James W. Baker, Jr., Barbara B. Ducote, Elizabeth B. Baker, Patty B. Normand, and Arthur W. Baker, six grand-children, and seven great-grand-children. She is preceded in death by James W. Baker, Sr, (her first husband), Lyle David Baker (infant son), and Julian G. Wenn (her second husband). Mrs. Baker was a secretary for Charity Hosiptal nursing programs from 1967 until 1987 when she retired from the State of Louisiana. She was a very active member of Airline Baptist Church in Kenner, Louisiana and Bay Springs Baptist Church in Bay Springs, Mississippi. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Service at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, Metairie, on Friday morning, March 26, 2021 at 11:00. Visitation will begin at 10:00. Interment will follow in Masonic Cemetery, New Orleans. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Airline Baptist Church.
