Evelyn Miller

Evelyn Conway Byrd Miller, age 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, October 17, 2016. Beloved wife of the late Burnie S. Byrd and Robert A. Miller. Loving mother of Pamela Byrd Wise (Jeff), Judy Byrd Calamusa and the late James Richard Byrd (Brenda). Proud grandmother of Michelle Calamusa LeBlanc(Steve), Scott Anthony Calamusa (Johanna), Stephen Mark Byrd (Jennifer), Richard Thomas Wise, Angie Wise Garner (Jason), Matthew Paul Byrd (Rachael) and Anna Marie Wise. Great grandmother of Emily Christina LeBlanc, Lauren Gabrielle LeBlanc, Abagail Paige Byrd, James Anthony Calamusa, Aubrey Grace Byrd, Jessica Lynn Calamusa, Haddon James Byrd, Olivia Marie Garner and Caleb James Byrd. Daughter of the late James Franklin and Sarah Alice Conway. Sister of the late Clytee Brown, Verlou Hensarling, Roberta Hartfield, Thomas Conway, Teollie Shoemake and Marlene McDonald.

Evelyn was very active at Williams Boulevard Baptist Church for many years. She was a Sunday School teacher and also a member of the finance committee and served the Lord in many other capacities. Evelyn worked for Finest Foods Inc. for over 30 years as the comptroller. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. The family would like to give a special thanks and appreciation to the staff at Canon Hospice for their care and compassion.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Williams Boulevard Baptist Church, 3000 Williams Blvd. in Kenner on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 12:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am and continue until the time of Service at noon. Interment will take place at Lake Lawn Park and Mausoleum.
