Betty Neely Wiltz

Betty Neely Wiltz, born March 16, 1927, in Pipestem, W.Va. – died August 12, 2011 in Baton Rouge, La. Betty was a devoted wife and mother who radiated happiness and love with her sparking eyes. Her personality was that of a true lady with class. A National Honor Society graduate of Hinton High School in West Virginia. She met her husband of 66 years in Washington, D.C. during WWII while working for the US Navy. She resided in Metairie, La., before moving to Natchitoches, La., in 2006. Betty retired from the Jefferson Parish Library System. She was a parishioner of St. Christopher, St. Benilde, and the Immaculate Conception Church in Natchitoches, La. She was the beloved wife of the late Allen Wiltz, Sr. Daughter of the late Dennis Neely and Nova Jane Mann. Mother of Allen Wiltz, Jr. of Natchitoches, La. and Patricia Cantin of St. Amant, La. Sister of Anna Ruth Settle of West Hartford, Ct. Sister of the late Billy Joe, Daniel, Dennis Cecil (D.C.), Glen and Raymond Neely, all from Pipestem, W.Va., Vonna Brandstetter of Edgewater Beach, Md., and Edith Whitley of Mechanicsville, Va. Half-sister of the late Virginia Clotile Dressler of Hinton, W.Va. Grandmother of Cherie Cantin Levert and Rachel Cantin of Gonzales La., Joy Wiltz and Jill Wiltz of Natchitoches, La. Great grandmother of Lucy Levert. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd on Friday, August 19, 2011 at 10:00 am. Visitation will be Thursday August 18th from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Friday from 8:00 am until 10:00 am. Inurnment at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery.
