Betty Lou Hammond

Betty Doyle Hammond, age 83, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on January 18, 2018. She was born in New Orleans and is preceded in death by her husband; Nathaniel “Tippy” Hammond, her parents; Helen Renner Doyle and Marquis deLafayette Doyle, Sr., brother; Gene Doyle, and sister; Peggy Cordes. She is survived by her children; Gina H. Knight (Peter Palestina), and Kyle G. Hammond, Sr., (Grace), brother; Marquis deLafayette Doyle, Jr., (Connie), and grandchildren; Douglas Knight (Tiffany), Kyle G. Hammond, Jr., Kristin Hammond, Lauren Hill (Josh), Christopher Hammond, Logan Hammond, and Lindsey Hammond, great-grandchildren; Douglas L. Knight, and Mckenzie Grace Hill, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was a devoted mother and grandmother; she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed playing Bingo and going to the casinos with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. A Funeral Mass will be held at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, Louisiana on Monday, January 22, 2018. Visitation with the family will be from 9:00 am – 11:00 am and the Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at the Masonic Cemetery #2 120 City Park Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana.
