Barbara Ann Gallagher Ryan

Barbara Ann Gallagher Ryan departed this life on angel’s wings on Monday, January 27, 2014. She was 61 years old. She is preceded in death by her father Norman T. Gallagher, Sr. She is survived by her beloved husband of 41 years, Norman William Ryan, her daughter Brandy Ann Ryan (Rocko & Maddie), her mother and best friend Bernice Graff Gallagher, her brothers Norman T. Gallagher, Jr. and Patrick M. Gallagher (Kim), and brother in law George Ryan (Carol). She was born in New Orleans (Irish Channel) and had lived in Metairie for 45 years. Barbara was a kind, gentle and loving soul who touched countless hearts with her love and concern. She was loved and respected by all who knew her. Barbara graduated from Redemptorist high school. She was a member of the Out For Fun club, the 11th Ward social women’s club and the Kiddie Corner club. Barbara was the Vice President of Administration for Hoist & Crane Service Group for 37 years where she had the privilege to work along side her brother Pat for 27 years. She was the beloved aunt to Stori Gallagher, David Shelhorse, Jill Gallagher, Chantel Gallagher Matthew (Michael), Norman T. Gallagher, III, Connor Gallagher, Kelly Ryan Engolia (Anthony), Torrie Steinert Schexnaydre (Chris), Todd Steinert (Trisha), George Ryan & Michael Ryan. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., in Metairie, LA on Saturday, February 1, 2014 from 10:00 AM until 2:30 PM.
