Vicki Cheryl Helms

Vicki Helms, age 76, passed away on July 5, 2023 in Mesquite, TX. She was born on July 7, 1946 at Fort Dix in Hanover Township, New Jersey to Myra Graham and John Valcourt II. Vicki was raised in Bergenfield, New Jersey but graduated High School in Immokalee, Florida in 1964. Vicki raised three wonderful children, Scott, Michael, and Suzzi, with her husband of 26 years, Alvin Helms. She had a long career in school administration spanning nearly 40 years culminating as the Community Education Coordinator for the Mesquite Independent School District. In her spare time, Vicki loved her poodles, enjoyed shopping, volunteering for worthy causes, and the occasional dinner and dominoes with her small group of great friends. Ask any family and friends and they’ll tell you how sweet, funny, and extremely generous she was. She is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: Nannette Mercer, Valerie Hargeaves, John Valcourt III, and Jay Valcourt. She is survived by her sister, Renee Stark, Marti Valcourt, Scott Helms, Michael and Cheryl Helms, Suzzanne and Mark Horak, Ashley Darga, Alex Horak, Sarah DeBaro, and several great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. She will be missed.

A celebration of life for Vicki will be held Thursday, July 13, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Anderson Clayton Gonzalez Funeral Home, 1111 Military Parkway, Mesquite, Texas 75149, followed by a reception from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
