Teresa Linda Vazquez was born on November 21, 1963 in El Campo, Texas to Anastacio Joe Reyna & Paula Ramirez Guerrero. She was the 2nd of six children. A happy child who enjoyed being with her family. Teresa attended Adamson High School, then worked for over 20 years as an office clerk for Johnson’s Cleaners. She was an irreplaceable, dedicated, hard worker who will be missed.
Teresa loved to read and dance. She enjoyed Romance novels and being on the dance floor with Tejano music playing. She also enjoyed singing in the choir at St. James Catholic Church.
She married Rodolfo Vasquez, Sr. in 1987 in Oak Cliff, Texas, and they were married over 25 years. They raised two children together, Rodolfo, Jr. and Solmaira. She loved being a mother, and she was a wonderful mother. One of Teresa’s dreams was to see her grandchildren. Thankfully, she was able to see her first granddaughter, Alyssa.
Teresa earned her angel wings before even leaving this Earth. She was a very charismatic woman. She was loving, endearing, a wonderful listener and always offered great advice. Teresa never had anything bad to say about anyone. She held no grudges, was a forgiving woman, and a woman of strong faith. She had such a big heart and caring personality, she touched so many with her bright spirit. A self-less woman, she was…even from a hospital bed, Teresa was helping all those who came to see her or care for her. She was always there for everyone. Teresa was Amazing! She saw this world from a different perspective, one from love and togetherness, and this was her gift.
She had a special connection with Sophia Morato, Tricia Gully, and Maria Del Carmen “Carmelita” Rodriguez, all of whom stayed by her side through her illness. These ladies kept the family up to date on her status and were there for her to the very end. They offered such strength for Teresa and the family. They truly were angels.
On Friday, May 2, 2014, Teresa Linda Vazquez was called Home by Our Lord. She was met in Heaven by her grandparents, Francisco & Martina Ramirez; her parents, Anastacio Joe Reyna and Paula Guerrero.
Her life will be honored, remembered and celebrated by her husband, Rodolfo Vazquez, Sr.; her son, Rodolfo Vazquez, Jr. and his wife Adriana; her daughter, “Sol” Solmaira Vazquez; her siblings: John Reyna and his wife Maggie of Victoria; Robert Reyna and his wife Maria of Stafford; Joe Anthony Reyna and his wife Virginia of El Campo; Reina Vidaña and her husband Hector of Dallas; Imelda Barron and her husband Jose of Dallas; her grandchildren: Alyssa Vazquez and soon to be arriving, “baby boy” Vazquez; and many more nieces, nephews, cousins, her god-children, relatives and friends.
The family would like to especially give thanks to all the doctors and nurses of Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas for treating Teresa like a member of their family and not as a patient.
The family would also like to thank everyone for their prayers and support they have received on behalf of Teresa. She will always be in our hearts.
