Robert Paul Bryan, 69, of Rowlett, TX passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at his residence in Rowlett. He was born in Dallas, TX to the late Robert Preston Bryan and Mary Josephine Miller. Robert graduated from Rockwall High school in 1963, and his family had strong ties with the Baptist church. He once told his dad, “I hope you get the job at this church because I found the girl I’m going to marry”. His father got the job as a preacher for the First Baptist Church of Rowlett and Robert married the love of his life Patricia Lee Aldridge in 1964. He got his wish and his father officiated their ceremony. Robert began working for Texas Instruments in 1965 and was drafted in 1967 by the US Army to fight in the Vietnam War. His highest rank was E4 and he received a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign medal and Vietnam Service Medal. He was honorably discharged in 1969 and returned home to Rowlett. He continued his career with Texas Instruments until he was laid off in 1998. He took a year break from work to spend time with his family and take care of things around his house. Robert then decided to get back to work and took a job in the plumbing department at Home Depot. In his spare time he enjoyed bowling, fishing, dove hunting with David Bryan and Deaun Alexander, watching the ID channel on TV, going to the movies and taking long drives and going out to eat. He was committed to his wife, family, and his Baptist faith. Robert was our saint. He was an honest, kind, caring, generous and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a man of great pride who was selfless, clean cut, always smelled awesome and had a great work ethic. To summarize, he was our hero and he will be greatly missed. Robert is preceded in death by his parents Robert Preston Bryan and Mary Josephine Miller; sister Esther Kay Phillips. He is survived by his beloved wife Patricia Bryan; son Rodney Bryan; daughter Michelle Bursby; sisters Sue and husband Deaun Alexander, Carol Whitley; brother David and wife Carol Bryan; grandchildren Mathew Schadegg, Taylor Schadegg, Shaila Bryan, and Jackson Bursby; and numerous loving nieces, nephews, and other friends.
