On December 10, 2021, Patsy Ann (Cypert) Williamson, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died peacefully at the age of 90.Patsy was born on December 15,1930 in Hill County, Texas. She was the youngest of eleven children born to Taylor Bundy and Mary Mattie (Garrett) Cypert. Patsy graduated from Hillsboro High School and attended Hill Junior College and Baylor University.
She married Rev. Charles Lee Williamson on July 11, 1953 in Peoria, Texas. He later wrote that it was “the most fortunate day of my life save the one in April of 1936 when I trusted Jesus as my savior”. In the dedication of his book he wrote “To Patsy - whose Christian character, unselfish spirit, incomparable friendship and wifely charm have for more than forty years been an inspiration for every good thing I have done”. Together, they raised two sons, Mark and John, and one daughter, Jane.
Patsy worked as an ordained minister’s wife, an Executive Assistant at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, and assisted her husband in his post-retirement consulting work. She was active at Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church as a Sunday School teacher, choir member and in her Sunday School Class. She loved to travel, especially when it included her family and extended family. She became the unofficial family historian, producing a detailed document full of facts about the Cyperts. It is a treasured part of a great family legacy. She is remembered by many as being “one of the sweetest persons that I have ever met”. It was said she enjoyed life and made life enjoyable for everyone around her. Patsy was remembered as being always positive, optimistic and cheerful.
Patsy was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and all of her siblings and their spouses. She is survived by her sons Mark Edward Williamson and his wife Marty (Sharp), John Robert Williamson and wife Jo Nell (Henslee); her daughter, Jane Elizabeth Williamson (Smee) and husband, Doug; her grandchildren, Joni Rene White and husband Tyler, Jace Charles Williamson and wife Lexie (McMakin), Rachel Marie Muzkiz, and Daniel Lee Muzkiz: great-grandchildren: Acie White, Andie Williamson, Elle Williamson, and Axel White; sister-in-law Ann Karaffa and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 16th from 6-8pm at Anderson Clayton Gonzalez Funeral Home in Mesquite, Texas. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 17th at 11 am with a visitation prior from 10-11am at Shiloh Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas followed by a private graveside service at Grove Hill Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shiloh Terrace Baptist church in memory of Patsy Williamson to be distributed to various mission causes dear to her heart.
