Amy Shalon Reed was born May 10, 1973 and went to heaven on April 12, 2022. Amy was born in Dallas TX to Ann and TJ Reed. She is preceded in death by parents Ann & TJ Reed, great-niece Cailee Hinkle, and many beloved fur babies. Amy is survived by siblings Jody & Lynda Reed of Mesquite TX, Martha and Darin Russell of Lake Hills TX, Adam Reed & Jennifer Reed of Dallas TX. Nieces and nephews - Melanie & Floyd Hicks of Mesquite, Todd Hinkle of Rockwall, Tosha Reed & Cliff Ritter of Mesquite, Matthew & Jessica Reed of Mesquite, Michael Reed of Dallas, Shelbe Russell of Irving and MariJo Russell of McKinney. Amy is also survived by many loving Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, great nieces and nephews and great cousins. There are so many that she loved and that loved her.
At an early age, Amy began helping in the family craft business established by her parents. She was quite the sales person. Amy would spend most weekends with her Dad going to the different craft shows where she quickly gained the admiration of the fellow vendors. They all seemed to look forward to seeing Amy and her dad TJ and would often comment on Amy’s old soul and how she always seemed to know what to say to a potential buyer and when to say it. Amy carried that keen ability of how to “read the customer” with her when working for Havertys Furniture store. Amy began her career at Havertys Furniture store in the Mesquite location in August 2007. They took a chance on a young lady that had only worked in a family business in craft sales. The chance turned out to be a huge success. Amy worked for Havertys until she passed. She held multiple positions at various locations, some she loved some she didn’t, but Amy knew that wherever they needed her that’s where she needed to be. At the time of her passing Amy was a Sales Associate at the Havertys store in Allen TX. Amy made many friendships through her career at Havertys. Many of those friendships were more like family than “just friends''. Amy loved her “work family” as much as she loved her “real family”.
Amy would want to be remembered by all, as someone that they could call a friend and someone that they knew 100% if there was a need of any kind she would respond. Amy gave all and requested nothing in return because part of her didn’t expect it and the other part didn’t think she deserved it. Please remember Amy as the kind hearted giving person that she was. She will be missed and loved by all whose lives she touched. RIP Amy - We Love You!
