Wanda Clements Hole, age 87 passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024, in Tempe, Arizona.
Wanda was born in Flagstaff, Arizona, on July 20, 1937, to parents Rollie Earl Clements and Johnny (Chesney) Clements. She grew up in Flagstaff and graduated from Flagstaff High School in 1955. Wanda met her future husband, Marvin Hole while attending Northern Arizona University. Marvin and Wanda were married on January 25, 1957, and went on to have three children, Marva, Carl, and Zetta. Marvin and Wanda were married for 62 years until he passed in 2019.
Wanda graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1961 and a Master of Arts in 1967. She continued her education at Arizona State University and was awarded a Ph.D. in Adult Education in 1970. Wanda was a professor of adult education for over 20 years at various universities, including Idaho State University, Wisconsin State University - Milwaukee, and Alaska Pacific University (APU)
In 1990 Wanda retired from APU and settled in Mesa, Arizona. During her retirement years, she enjoyed taking assistive technology computer classes, volunteering at the Phoenix Library Special Needs Center, sharing her passion for writing poetry with various poetry writing groups, and, most of all, spending time with her family.
Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Johnny Clements, and her husband, Marvin.
She is survived by her children Marva (David Borden) Brook of Grafton, Wisconsin; Carl Hole of Denver, Colorado; and Zetta (Pete) Armbruster of Fountain Hills, Arizona. Six grandsons Lionel (Samantha) Daniel, and Evan, Trevor, Darren, Colin (Audrey), Wesley Brook, and two great-grandchildren also survive.
Private services will be held.
