Shannon Kay Wood, born on July 29th, 1958, in Des Moines, Iowa, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, in Mesa Arizona surrounded by her loving family. She was the cherished daughter of Jack and Kenna Rowley and the adored older sister of John Rowley and Clark Rowley.
In 1977, Shannon married Randy Russo, and together they welcomed two beautiful children into the world, Charles (Chuck) and Jackilyn. In 1985, the family made Arizona their home, where Shannon worked extremely hard to provide for and create a cozy and humble household for her family.
In April 2005, Shannon found love once again and married James Thomas Wood II. Together, they crafted a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Shannon served as the dedicated marketing director at Accurate Air, her husband's family-owned HVAC business, where her commitment and passion shone brightly. Her unwavering dedication contributed significantly to the success of the family business, leaving a lasting impact on all those who had the pleasure of working with her.
Shannon's artistic spirit and expert crocheting skills were a source of inspiration to all who knew her. Even though she wasn't fond of being in the kitchen, Shannon was quite the cook. Shannon was the core and strength of her family, a true problem solver, and a person who always kept herself busy.
Her greatest joy in life was undoubtedly her grandchildren. Shannon, affectionately known as "Nanny" to her grandkids, was a remarkable and fun-loving grandmother. She leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth, survived by her devoted husband James Thomas Wood II, her children Chuck Russo (Erin) and Jackilyn Arnold (Nic), stepchildren Trisha Lowery (Bobby) and Shelie Moreno (Anthony), as well as her 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Shannon will be dearly missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in peace, and may her family find comfort in the cherished memories they shared.
