Scott Anthony Smith, 46, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2013 surrounded by his family. He was born, May 18, 1966 in Scottsdale, AZ to Monte and Antonetta Smith. Starting in construction, Scott enjoyed building and inventing things. He went on, later in life to owning and operating his own framing and truss company. He also researched solar energy, building his own solar panel. His most recent job was at Home Depot, working on the MET team in Customer Service. Being fond of practical jokes, Scott was known for his prankster personality. Scott enjoyed many things such as gardening, keeping up on current affairs, the stock market and listening to old country music. Nothing brought him more enjoyment than spending time with his family. He is survived by his parents, Monte and Antonetta; his loving wife of 17 years and high school sweetheart Chrysta Smith; daughters Summer (Bill) Glenn and Stormie Smith; sons Tanner and Wyatt Smith; brother Marty (Brigitte) Smith; granddaughter Sienna Glenn; grandmother Amelia Waliser as well as many nieces and nephews. Our family would like to share heartfelt gratitude to all of the doctors, and nurses at Cancer Treatment Centers of America, particularly, Dr. Quann, our care manager Tara, Pastor Jeff, our nutritionist Stephanie, and all of the awesome doctors and nurses in the inpatient unit. Hospice of the Valley, especially the in-home nurses, deserve a special thanks as well.We would also like to thank Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, The King's Quartet, The Home Depot, Skippy’s Grill and Cantina, and all our family, friends, and neighbors for all of their financial and emotional support! A visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Mariposa Gardens Funeral Care 400 S. Power Rd, in Mesa with a funeral service at 2:00 pm, on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 612 S Ellsworth Rd, Mesa, AZ 85208.
