Rod served the country he loved as a Marine in World War II.
He married Gladys Mae (Thorne) Snedeger on February 29, 1980 in Las Vegas, Nevada; and together they blended their families.
Rod grew up and spent most of his adult life in Colorado; you could be driving with him just about anywhere in the State, and he would be able to entertain you with a story about whatever particular place in which you happened to be. He delighted his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren with his many (often humorous) stories and pearls of wisdom. He loved to strike up a conversation with anyone he happened to meet.
Rod stayed active by playing golf and shuffleboard, which gave him the opportunity to meet other people. He received some awards for shuffleboard, which he kept displayed in his bedroom.
Rod passed away at home on November 10, 2019. He is survived by his wife Gladys Mae Cary; brothers Albert Ernest “Pome” Camelleti and Frank Camelleti; children Debbie Deane, Thomas Snedeger, and Linda Randolph; 5 grandchildren Timothy Clapham, Heather Shippy Hannah Howell , Josh Darnell, and Toby Wahler; and 11 great grandchildren Sydney Shippy, LaKisha Simpson, Timothy Clapham, Chloe Shippy, Maisy Shippy, Krosby Shippy, Rebecca Clapham, Haley Scholz, Layton Wall, Kian Howell and Miles Wahler.
Rod was predeceased by his brother Clarence Tracy “Bud” Cary, sister Shirley Taylor, son Clyde Harden, son Paul Cary, and daughter Cindy Sholz.
Rest in Peace our beloved Rod.
