It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roberta “Tate" Dancer, who peacefully left us on November 27, 2024, in Mesa, Arizona, due to complications from pneumonia. She was 65 years old.
Tate’s passion for photography was a defining part of her life. A gifted photographer, she had a special affinity for capturing candid moments of the graceful ballerinas in the Phoenix area, turning their movements into timeless works of art. Her creative eye and dedication to her craft left a lasting impact on all who admired her work.
Her love for animals, especially dogs, was another cornerstone of her character. Tate’s heart belonged to Sofie, a border collie mix who brought immeasurable joy to her life. The loss of Sofie was a deeply emotional moment for Tate, and she cherished the memories of their time together.
An adventurous soul, Tate was known for her wit, her infectious laughter, and her deep love for travel. She had many exciting plans ahead, including a trip to Portugal in the new year, a testament to her spirit of curiosity and exploration. Whether she was venturing to new places or enjoying a quiet evening with friends, Tate embraced life with enthusiasm and grace.
Tate’s family, friends, and all who knew her will miss her deeply. Her creativity, love, and vibrant personality will be forever remembered, and her photographs will continue to tell the stories of her passion and vision.
A private memorial service will be held in her honor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local animal shelter in memory of her beloved Sofie.
Tate’s spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved her, and her legacy will endure in the beautiful photographs she leaves behind.
