Randy Lee Baker

Randy Lee Baker, 58, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Mesa, AZ on November 28, 2022. Randy was born on March 4, 1964 in Elyria, Ohio. The son of Bill and Marilyn Baker, he is survived by his parents, his wife of 26 years, Debra Jo Baker, daughter, Jessica (Jim) Heggarty, son Nicholas (Elizabeth) Baker, his grandson, Jack Heggarty, brothers Terry (Missy) Baker, Eric Baker and sister Julie (Randy) Cormany. Randy is also survived by his sister-in-law Sherry Rumpf and brother -in-law Randy (Donna) Lewis as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Dale Rumpf, mother-in-law, Ruth Lewis and father-in-law, Ken Lewis.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, son, brother and brother-in-law to his family. He was a great friend to everyone else that had the privilege of knowing him.

Randy’s heart was full of love for others, especially for family. When he met the love of his life, Debbie, the love he had for her quickly overflowed to both Jessie and Nick. Randy was an excellent example of a provider, protector, teacher and mentor. He listened more than he spoke, which allowed his words to have impact to those around him.

Randy had a servant’s heart as he was always helping and caring for others. He valued family above all else and demonstrated it by giving of his time and his talents to assist others. He worked tirelessly to assist his parents, brothers, sister and extended family by quietly using his gifts of woodworking, organization, technology and handiwork. His support was greatly appreciated by all those he touched.

He was employed by State Farm Insurance for 35 years working on their computer mainframe systems and providing technical support as a key member of the State Farm technology team. Having retired from State Farm at the end of 2020, Randy continued to use his technical skills to assist friends and family with their computer and technology needs. He also enjoyed bowling and golf for recreation.

There will be a celebration of Randy’s life on December 7, 2022 at 3:00pm at Mariposa Memorial Gardens, located at 6747 E. Broadway Rd. Mesa, AZ 85206.
