Patricia Jane Ohab (Martin), 86, was granted her Angel Wings on July 24, 2015 after passing peacefully with her family by her side. Pat was born to Samuel and Lillian Martin on August 23, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois where she graduated from Lindblom High School in 1946 at the top of her class. She married Albert Joseph Ohab in 1947 and they moved to Phoenix in 1960 with their three children. At 16, she began her career as a switchboard operator for Illinois Bell and later became a Telecommunications Manager for Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix where she retired after 27 years. Pat also had a long time career selling Avon and was considered quite the “sales lady”. She was a member of Dayspring Methodist Church, past President of the Ladies Auxiliary at Banner Good Sam and avid Cubs and Diamondbacks fan. Pat was so excited when they built the Cubs spring training stadium right up the street from her house! Never sitting still for a moment, Pat enjoyed Zumba and silver sneakers classes, gardening, crossword puzzles, assembling photo albums and “meme boxes”, and most importantly making customized pillows for anyone and everyone. Her most recent accomplishment was researching and exploring her family heritage and completing an extensive “family tree”. Pat was “one of kind” with her unique ability to embrace life with such a positive attitude and loving youthful spirit like no other. She will always be remembered as the “life of the party”, whether dancing, singing or sharing one of her many stories, she made the world a better place by far. Known as Grammy, Meme, Aunt Patsy and Mom, she was loved and adored by friends and family alike and will be greatly missed by all those privileged to have known her. Pat was most proud of her family and found great joy and satisfaction in boasting about their accomplishments. She leaves behind a loving family that will miss her dearly including her children Martin Joseph, Stephen James (Shelley), and Paula Jean Barrett (John), eleven grandchildren, her brother Paul Martin (Ruth), a niece, two nephews and their children, and especially her longtime companion of twenty five years, Peter Henry. A memorial service and celebration of Pat’s life will be held at Lakeshore Mortuary at 1815 S Dobson Road in Mesa, on August 29th, 2015 at 4pm.
