Patricia Marie McLaren

She passed away peacefully on March 18, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer. She will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, prayer partner, and friend.

Patti is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Roy McLaren; her children, Christel Covert (Paul), Steve McLaren (Joyce), Teresa Franco, Dena Miller (Mike), Dawn Sewell, and her granddaughter, Ashley Hares, whom she helped raise; 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her seven siblings, Margaret Huckeba, Veronica Dennis, Anne Pang (Dane), Jane Shields, Elizabeth Heaps (Timothy), Johnny Shields (Marilyn), and Joseph Shields.

Preceding Patti in death were her parents, her sisters, Mary McCuin and Joan Branscome, her brother Danny, and her great-granddaughter, Everleigh Marie.

Patti was the first child born to Jack and Pat, followed by seven girls and three boys. She loved dancing with her husband, Roy, socializing with her friends, traveling, and seeing new sights. She attended Holy Names Academy where she graduated in 1957. After high school Patti moved to Seattle and pursued a successful career in cosmetology. She returned back home to Spokane, Washington where she met Roy, who was a widower with four children. They married in 1970 and shortly after moved with their five children to Tempe, Arizona. Patti enjoyed a career working as an interior designer. She was a gracious host to countless family events, women’s ministries, and bible studies. She was a mighty prayer warrior for all of her loved ones.

Patti had a great joy for life, especially spending time with her family and many friends. She was always there to brighten the lives of others. Her kindness, generosity and friendship was felt by many.

Patti’s love, faith, and trust in God gave her strength throughout her life. She loved and mentored many family members and friends. She was always available when they needed her to pray, talk or be by their side. She will be greatly missed.
