Mark David Vilaboy passed away on January 11, 2013 in Chandler, Arizona. Mark was born on March 4, 1960 in Havana, Cuba as an American born abroad to Eileen Johnson and Manuel Vilaboy. Mark attended Catholic education K-8 and St. Francis High School Seminary in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Mercy College in Detroit, where he graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Mark was an IRS auditor and attended law school at Arizona State University College of Law, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Law Journal. Mark was a partner at Quarles & Brady with a specialty in tax controversies.
Mark is survived by his parents and his siblings, Michael, Michelle, Maria, Matthew, Martin, Monica, and Maurice, brothers- and sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mark is also survived by his life partner of twenty year and husband, Damien Laurence (Larrie) Brandeis, a naturopathic physician in Chandler.
Celebration of Life Services will be held Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. at Lakeshore Mortuary, 1815 S. Dobson Rd., Mesa. Charitable contributions in Mark’s memory may be made to the Human Rights Campaign.
Mark was a generous, kind, warm, and loving person who gave his time freely to all in need, and he will be missed.
