In the early hours of Wednesday, September 1, 2021, our beloved Larry Evans Jr. went into a deep sleep awaiting his resurrection. Larry Jr. was a devoted, supportive, loving husband and life team member to wife Megan. He was a dedicated and inspirational father to Jordan, Malik and Jaylin and will be forever missed by his family as well as all those he touched in his short time with us.
Larry Evans Jr. was born July 31, 1978 to Ruth and Larry Evans Sr. in Los Angeles California. As a young child, he always answered with pride, confidence and a grin, “My name is Larry Evans Jr. and my birthday is Uly 31st". Larry Jr. was the second oldest of seven children, Lashay, Danielle, Ericka, Rachel, Johnathan and Nathanal. From a young age, Larry Jr. was destined for greatness. He told endless stories of how grateful he was for his Mom for always instilling drive, motivation and an insatiable hunger for success. Ruth’s belief in Larry Jr. and making sure that he had belief in himself is what started his life of achieving his level of success in life he had.
Larry Jr., spent his childhood years in San Jose, Ca, where he attended Silver Creek High School and graduated class of 1996. He was affectionately known as L-Boogie and Lunchmeat to close friends and family. Larry Jr. has always been a gifted athlete and excelled at any sport he decided that he was going to try. He played basketball, baseball, ran track, but his love for football, which was going to help open up opportunities for him to receive an education. Football is what took him to Cal State Sacramento University, but unfortunately it was not his destination to continue his football dreams. However, the education that he received would provide him with the knowledge he needed to become one of the top managers of not only the sales side, but also many years later, the fitness side of the health industry.
In 2004, Larry Jr. and his family made the decision to move to Phoenix, Az to create a better life. Larry Jr. continued excelling at sales, fitness, management and leadership throughout his time in Arizona, Nevada, California and Oklahoma. With motivation, support, convincing and being reminded that he was successful at anything he focused on, after 20yrs, Larry Jr. transitioned from the fitness industry to real estate. With help from an amazing mentor that took him under his wing (Dayna), helped pave yet another path to the top once again. He started working for Century 21 and again excelled to be the top real estate agent in Arizona.
Whoever met Larry Jr., knew he had an endless positive outlook on life, competitive nature, huge heart, wonderful sense of humor, larger than life personality that demanded attention and the most infectious smile that could light up any room. He was starting the mentor chapter of his life. Rather than his personal success bringing him joy, he took pride in being a mentor and inspiration to all that he could. He prided himself in teaching others how to be their best as he himself was taught. He loved bringing out the best in all those that would listen.
There are no words to describe the loss that anyone who knew Larry Jr. is feeling in their hearts and lives with him gone. It is important that we celebrate the time that we knew Larry Jr. Known for his vibrant personality, charm, charisma, sense of humor and the list can go on and on. The characteristic that we will all see first when we remember him is that confidant, warm, one-of-a-kind smile. He was a special man and will be missed.
Larry Jr. maternal Grandparents Wayne & Flossie Mae Bell and paternal Grandmother Helen Chris preceded him in death. Larry Jr. leaves to cherish his memory, Wife Megan, Children Jordan, Malik and Jaylin. His Parents Ruth & Larry Evans, Sr. and Kathy Gonzalez Sisters Lashay, Danielle, Ericka, Rachel, Brothers Johnathan, Nathanal 2 Nieces Grace and Genevieve, 4 Nephews Mason, Zach, Wesley, Kalif and KamRon. A host of aunts, uncles, cousins, neighbors and friends.
Larry Jr. touched the hearts and minds of everyone he encountered. He was always challenging everyone's mental, and physical well beings to be the best image of themselves while doing it with a smile. He was a special man and will be missed.
