In accordance with Kathy’s wishes, no funeral services will be held.
Kathy was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Ingrid and Donald Olausen on the 4th of February 1950. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis in 1968. Kathy married Clarence (Swede) Almquist the 7th of November 1969. She worked in Payroll and Human Resources for Scottsdale Healthcare for 23 years.
Kathy and family moved for work and left Minnesota for Puerto Rico, California, and Hawaii finally setting roots in Scottsdale. Kathy was known by many as a helpful, caring person who would not hesitate to lend her hands or heart. Kathy had a passion for stained glass work, enjoyed the occasional game of Keno and an affection for animals, especially cats.
Kathy is preceded in death by her mother Ingrid, father Donald, and sister Faye.
Kathy is survived by her husband Swede, daughter April and son-in-law Chris, son Jay and daughter-in-law Maggie, brother Jim and sister-in-law Cherie, grandson Ben, granddaughter Peri, and cat Stella.
